About 85% of this went to programming (primarily research for the first half of the year, and then shifting to the implementation of our pilot programme in Africa), and 15% was allocated to operational costs and administrative expenses (including travel). In 2022, we are estimating an annual budget of $150,000. Our funding thus far primarily comes from philanthropic funds - including three grants from the EA Animal Welfare Fund - and from high net worth individuals, such as Peter Singer. We also have an increasing number of smaller donations supporting our work from the effective altruism and animal protection movements.
