1:1 Career Advising
Careers to Help Animals in Africa
Highly selective 1:1 career advising for individuals who want to use their careers to create meaningful, long-term impact for farmed animals in Africa.
This pilot is designed for people who are already motivated and capable, but want clearer direction, strategic feedback, and honest guidance on where they can do the most good.
Our career advising provides personalised, impact-focused support to help you:
Clarify where your skills, experience, and constraints best fit the animal advocacy ecosystem
Explore impactful career paths beyond a narrow set of nonprofit roles
Think strategically about trade-offs, timing, and longer-term career trajectories
Pressure-test your plans with advisors who understand the African context
This is not general career coaching. It is targeted, strategic advising, grounded in AAA’s research, field experience, and network.
Who is this for?
Career advising is highly selective and intended for people who:
Are serious about building a career that helps farmed animals in Africa
Have demonstrated strong motivation, judgement, and follow-through
Are at a decision point or transition where advice could materially change their trajectory
Are open to honest feedback, including challenges to initial assumptions
You do not need to be based in Africa, but your plans should meaningfully connect to improving outcomes for animals on the continent.
What to expect
The 1:1 career advising typically includes:
One 45–60 minute 1:1 advising call
Substantive follow-up guidance tailored to your situation
Warm introductions, where clearly helpful and appropriate
Access to AAA’s alumni community
Support is focused on helping you make better decisions - not on maximising volume or frequency of engagement.
What we do not provide
To keep this pilot focused and high-impact, it does not include:
Ongoing accountability coaching or regular check-ins
Long-term mentorship arrangements
Deep CV rewrites or application editing services
Guaranteed placements or job offers
Extensive job sourcing as a default
We aim to be clear about boundaries upfront, so expectations are well aligned on both sides.
